Grammy Awards 2014

Dal successo dei Daft Punk alla “reunion a metà” dei Beatles
I Daft Punk sono stati senza dubbio i trionfatori dei 56esimi Grammy Awards. La cerimonia svoltasi ieri allo Staples Center di Los Angeles ha visto infatti il duo aggiudicarsi ben cinque statuette: Album of the Year per “Random access memories”, Record of the Year per la hit “Get Lucky” e ancora Best Pop Duo / Group Performance, Best Dance-Electronic album e Best Engineered Album.
 
Tanti gli artisti che hanno suonato dal vivo nel corso della serata, oltre agli stessi Daft Punk, saliti sul palco con Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers e Stevie Wonder. Tra gli altri, si sono esibiti anche i due ex Beatles Paul McCartney e Ringo Starr, i quali insieme hanno interpretato “Queenie Love”, dinanzi a una platea che vedeva tra gli ospiti anche Yoko Ono.
 
Sir Paul insieme agli ex Nirvana Dave Grohl e Krist Novoselic e a Pat Smear dei Foo Fighters, si è aggiudicato inoltre il Grammy per “Cut Me Some Slack”, ritenuta Best Rock Song dell’anno appena trascorso.
 
Song of the Year e Best Pop Solo Performance sono i due premi assegnati alla neozelandese 17enne Lorde per “Royals”, mentre della “vecchia guardia” sono stati premiati i Led Zeppelin con il Best Rock Album per il live “Celebration” e i Black Sabbath per la Best Metal Performance con “God is dead”. Best Blues Album è stato invece “Get Up” di Ben Harper con Charlie Musselwhite. Entrambi sono saliti sul palco dello Staples Center di Los Angeles anche per suonare e non solo per ricevere il prestigioso riconoscimento.
