Dougie MacLean esegue Caledonia accompagnato da alcune delle maggiori star del panorama folk internazionale ai BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, tenutisi il 30 gennaio 2013 durante il festival Celtic Connections. Nel corso della serata al Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, MacLean ha ricevuto il premio alla carriera per il suo contributo al songwriting.
Caledonia è uno dei brani più amati dal popolo scozzese, tanto da venire considerato da molti un secondo inno nazionale. In un’intervista MacLean ha commentato l’esibizione dicendo: “Questa è probabilmente la versione di Caledonia a più alto profilo che sia mai stata cantata”.

Dougie MacLean sings “Caledonia” accompanied by some of the major stars of the international folk scene at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, during the Celtic Connections festival on 30th of January 2013. During the show at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, MacLean has received the Lifetime achievement award for his contribution to songwriting.
“Caledonia” is one of the most loved songs by the Scottish people, so much that it’s often considered a second national anthem. In an interview MacLean has said: “This is probably the highest profile version of ‘Caledonia’ that it has ever been sung.”
