Black Sabbath e Ozzy Osbourne, l’ultimo concerto

Ieri, 5 luglio, si è svolto al Villa Park di Birmingham il concerto di addio alla musica dal vivo di Ozzy Osbourne e dei Black Sabbath. All’evento, della durata di oltre dieci ore, hanno assistito più di 40mila persone.

Oltre ai Black Sabbath – in formazione storica con Ozzy Osbourne alla voce, Tony Iommi alla chitarra, Geezer Butler al basso e Bill Ward alla batteria – hanno partecipato al concerto denominato Back to the Beginning numerosi artisti e gruppi della scena metal e hard rock, tra cui Metallica, Slayer, alcuni membri dei Guns N’ Roses (incluso il cantante Axl Rose) e dei Rage Against the Machine e Steven Tyler degli Aerosmith. L’attore Jason Momoa ha presentato la serata.

Osbourne ha compiuto 76 anni lo scorso 3 dicembre e nel 2020 ha annunciato di avere il morbo di Parkinson. Nel 2017 aveva tenuto quello che era stato presentato come il concerto finale con i Black Sabbath, ma aveva proseguito la sua attività da solista per alcuni anni.

Durante la parte finale dell’evento, Osbourne è tornato sul palco per esibirsi e ha cantato restando seduto su un trono nero con decorazioni in stile gotico. In alcuni momenti ha mostrato difficoltà vocali, ma il pubblico lo ha sostenuto cantando con lui.
