“Bongo Fury”, 50 anni: l’edizione speciale dell’album di Frank Zappa e Captain Beefheart
Il cofanetto Super Deluxe con concerti dal vivo, tracce inedite, vinili rimasterizzati e Blu-ray in Dolby Atmos
Bongo Fury ha compiuto 50 anni. La collaborazione tra Frank Zappa e Captain Beefheart del maggio 1975 portò a nuove composizioni, un tour e alla pubblicazione dell’album omonimo, composto principalmente da registrazioni dal vivo dei concerti del 20 e 21 maggio 1975 all’Armadillo Headquarters di Austin, Texas, insieme ad alcune incisioni in studio al Record Plant di Los Angeles. L’album è considerato un classico della discografia di Zappa e l’ultimo a riportare in copertina il nome della sua band, le Mothers. Per il 50° anniversario, l’album sarà pubblicato il prossimo 20 marzo in vari formati: il boxset 5CD/1Blu-ray Super Deluxe contiene materiale inedito, tra cui outtake in studio e due concerti completi all’Armadillo, remixati dai master analogici originali, foto inedite e note di copertina di Denny Walley e Joe Travers. Il Blu-ray propone la nuova versione Dolby Atmos, mix 5.1 e audio stereo ad alta risoluzione con bonus surround dagli archivi zappiani. La versione 2LP 180g black vinyl contiene l’album originale rimasterizzato da Bernie Grundman e un disco bonus con gli highlight del cofanetto, accompagnato da una litografia e un libretto con foto inedite e note di copertina. La versione 1LP 180g black vinyl contiene l’album rimasterizzato dai nastri master originali, mentre la versione 1LP colorata (D2C Exclusive, Orange & Black Galaxy) include l’album rimasterizzato e una litografia.
