Beatles, nuova edizione speciale di “Rubber Soul” in uscita il 2 ottobre

L’album del 1965 torna con nuovi mix stereo e Dolby Atmos, il master mono originale, la versione Capitol US e registrazioni inedite

 

UMG e Apple Corps Ltd annunciano la pubblicazione della nuova edizione speciale di Rubber Soul, lo storico album dei Beatles uscito nel 1965. La raccolta sarà disponibile dal 2 ottobre in diversi formati, tra cui edizioni standard, speciali e Super Deluxe, oltre a una versione Blu-ray.

La nuova edizione è stata remixata dal produttore Giles Martin e dall’ingegnere del suono Sam Okell e include un nuovo mix stereo, il nuovo mix Dolby Atmos, il mix mono originale e la versione originale dell’album Capitol US.

La raccolta è ampliata con registrazioni dalle session e demo mai pubblicate prima, oltre ai singoli Day Tripper e We Can Work It Out. Il brano Michelle (Take 1) è disponibile da oggi in digitale.

 

 

Pubblicato per la prima volta il 3 dicembre 1965, Rubber Soul rappresentò un momento di svolta nel percorso dei Beatles, mostrando una band impegnata in una fase di maggiore sperimentazione nella scrittura e nella registrazione.

Registrato in quattro settimane tra ottobre e novembre 1965, dopo il concerto da record allo Shea Stadium di New York, l’album comprende alcuni dei brani più celebri del gruppo, tra cui Drive My Car, Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown), Nowhere Man, Michelle, Girl e In My Life.

Considerato uno degli album più importanti nella storia della musica pop, Rubber Soul segnò l’inizio di un periodo creativo che avrebbe portato i Beatles verso lavori come Revolver e Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Le edizioni Super Deluxe 4CD e 5LP includono un libro di 88 pagine con una nuova introduzione scritta da Paul McCartney e una prefazione composta utilizzando scritti e dichiarazioni di John Lennon, oltre a fotografie rare, approfondimenti sulla storia dell’album e dettagliate note sui brani.

Rubber Soul sarà disponibile nelle edizioni standard 1CD e 1LP, nelle edizioni speciali 2CD e 2LP, nelle edizioni Super Deluxe 4CD e 5LP e in formato Blu-ray con il nuovo mix Dolby Atmos, audio stereo ad alta risoluzione e video promozionali di Day Tripper e We Can Work It Out.
